Battlefield 2142 Login Problem
Ok guys, sorry to be a pain.I think I did everything right.So unplugged from the internet, got the do want to go offline, said yes, than got 'This EA Account cannot be found locally on this machine. Please try with a different one to log on'What am I doing wrong?You need a 'dummy' account profile.When you 1st log in the the old ea server and created,account and soldier,the game made a folder in 'my documents'.inside this 'Battlefield 2142' folder is profiles etcso you need a 'saved' account/profile folder.www.stg2142.com you could use their fix to create this folder,save it then use this fix? I have experienced strange CTD with using an offline account in BF2142. I am beginning to think that since DICE designed the game to only use an online account, even for SP, that they hacked the offline account to create problems.
Unzip into your desktop or wherever is easiest, then move the Battlefield 2142 folder to your 'My Documents' folder. Game Ranger issues Note: Game Ranger will disable the ability to play singleplayer, because it's backs up the existing profile and makes a custom one. You can use this generic profile to play singleplayer again.
Using an online account for offline play, allowed players to use earned unlocks, they just count not earn any more until then went back to online play. Now, if you played BF2142 before the master account server went down, you are still using an online account and won't have these problems. But if you reimaged your system or deleted your profile and created an offline account, then you will experience these problems. There are other game developers that have it set up where if the game can know that a hack is being used, that it will do something strange and even cripple the game. At first I thought that offline account use was buggy, since it was never intended to be used, but now I can't help but wonder if it wasn't bugged on purpose to prevent pirates from being able to enjoy the game. If that is the case, then, by EA dropping support of the game, they have permanently crippled it.
I don't believe that EA cared what happened to the game after support was dropped. BF2, on the other hand, was designed to use an offline account. I zipped it up and included it as an attachment to this post. It still asks you to login to an online account but you don't need to fill out the username and password fields, just hit the login button and it will take you to the offline login.i downloaded this and the single player generic profile, but it still says there is no account on this machine. How do i fix this? My buddy gave me his 2142 and i really loved playing it and i want to play it again.
Sadly it doesn't seem to want to let me. I am also not overly computer savvy which would totally help.

Thanks, I tried deathlok clan but, I'm not smart enough to figure it out. I have worked on computers for over25 years I was a bench tech for15 years in a las Vegas strip Casino. I know hardware, I can fix all boards in slot machines & poker machines &, any kind of monitor in gaming equipment but, sorry to say, I just don't know anything about programing!!!!!I just want to say, thanks to everybody that tried to help, people on this site are very nice & helpful, I think it is time to give-up on 2142Thanks again. I just fixed a computer and installed BF2142. I just needed 2 things to get it to work. I used Dnamro's generic profile and I used the Offline BF2142 fixed exe. That's it.Just replace the original BF2142.exe with the fixed Exe and use Dnamro's generic profile and I can play BF2142 coop offline. I zipped it up and included it as an attachment to this post.

I used to be able to get the offline mode without problems 2 years ago (on Win 8.1). I can't remember whether I used tofugamer's, dnamro's or Dethklok's fix (which I'm sure all works).Now, just reinstalled 2142 from DVD and applied patch 1.50 and 1.51. Tried both tofugamer's (wifi on) and dnamro's (wifi off) method's, and no matter what I do and click (login, create or retrieve), all I get is just the same response (can't connect to EA online).Unlike the last time, I'm now on Win 10 (latest update), but with the 2142.exe's compatibility set to Win XP.What am I doing wrong?

After putting the generic profile files in the 'Documents' and disabling internet connection, I will get the 'singleplayer' soldier at the login page. After attempting to login and being told that it can't connect to the EA master server (and click 'ok' to select offline soldier), clicking 'ok' only brings to the message that 'account can't be found locally'.This persists even after multiple tries. Works great.Anyone know how to get BF2142 working online at 1080p using Game Ranger. I tried the BFf2142 hub launcher, but the game keeps crashing every time I select join inside of Game Ranger. I use a shortcut to launch the game +widescreen 1 when playing offline, which works great, but without it the game just crashes. It would be great if I can play online at 1080p.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Ok got it workingused the offline BF2142.exe crack located here -had a few mod folders but Unlocksv1.5 mod worked (dont know where i got it from). I had 2 other mod folders 1.20c and another 1.20 SP or something and neither of them had the unlocksso created a shortcut 'C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesBattlefield 2142 DeluxeBF2142.exe' +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080 +modPath mods/Unlocksv1.5opens and actually lets me log in and have unlocks win win.no more unplugging my internet so i can log in.
